Applications Engineer / Senior Applications Engineer

About the role

The Applications Engineer acts as the technical bridge between customers and our semiconductor analysis equipment. You will evaluate samples, demonstrate tools, train users, and relay market feedback to R&D, ensuring our solutions meet real‑world needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct failure‑analysis sample evaluations and on‑site demonstrations for customers.
• Prepare detailed evaluation reports, application notes, and technical presentations.
• Provide pre‑sales technical support, assess requirements, recommend system configurations, and assist with proposals.
• Deliver comprehensive training on system operation, analysis techniques, and best practices.
• Support installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot application issues in collaboration with Service and R&D teams.
• Collect and analyse customer feedback to suggest product improvements.
• Represent the company at trade shows, seminars, and technical workshops in Singapore and the region.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field.
• Approximately three years of experience in failure analysis, semiconductor process/product engineering, or applications support for analytical equipment (fresh graduates with strong project experience may be considered).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple customer requests, and travel regionally.

Required skills

• Optical microscopy and emission microscopy.
• X‑ray microscopy.
• Acoustic microscopy.
• Thermal and laser‑based fault isolation techniques.
• Sample preparation and decapsulation.
• Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy‑Dispersive X‑ray spectroscopy (EDX).
• Electrical characterization of devices.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware, optics, and analysis software.
