Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support finance operations across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial records and robust internal controls. Working closely with commercial, retail, AR/AP, and cross‑functional finance teams, the role contributes to month‑end closes, reporting, and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily transactional accounting, including journal entries, postings, and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and period‑end closes, preparing accruals, trial balances, and variance analyses.
• Maintain records for inventory, fixed assets, rent, and major operating expenses.
• Partner with Business Planning & Control on expense reviews and analysis.
• Enforce GAAP/IFRS standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare documentation for internal/external audits, statutory reporting, and tax filings.
• Produce schedules, bank reconciliations, and reports for management and group reporting.
• Support accounts receivable processes, including billing, collections, and adjustments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting or audit role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Fluent English and effective cross‑functional communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or finance systems.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
