Assistant Butcher Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Butcher Manager to support the Head Butcher in ensuring smooth service operations across our island‑wide outlets. You will help manage meat preparation, display, inventory and customer transactions while maintaining high safety and sanitation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Wrap, weigh, label and price meat cuts; operate grinders, power jacks, scales, wrapping machines, saws and knives.
• Prepare and arrange meat products on display counters to attract shoppers.
• Process special meat cut orders from customers.
• Cut, trim, bone, tie, grind and shape beef, poultry and fish for cooking.
• Estimate requirements, order and requisition meat supplies to maintain inventory.
• Receive, inspect, store and record meat deliveries, ensuring quality.
• Shape, lace and tie roasts using boning knives, skewers and twine; cure, smoke, tenderise and preserve meat.
• Handle total sales, collect payments and perform cashier duties.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Good communication skills.
• Strong supervisory abilities, including organising, planning and people management.
• Experience working in a butcher or kitchen environment.
• Cashiering experience.

Required skills

• Operation of grinders, power jacks, scales, wrapping machines, saws and knives.
• Use of boning knives, skewers and twine for shaping roasts.
• Cash handling and point‑of‑sale operation.
