Assistant Director, Financial Control

About the role

The National University Health System is seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Control to lead the integrity and governance of financial activities across its flagship hospital. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will ensure robust month‑end closing, statutory reporting, and audit compliance while supporting strategic budgeting and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accurate monthly closing in line with NUHS/NUH standards.
• Manage statutory reporting and audit processes, ensuring compliance with the latest IFRS.
• Participate in cluster‑wide budgeting and rolling forecasts.
• Direct operational finance functions including cash management, purchase requisitions, and fixed‑asset administration.
• Foster a strong corporate‑governance culture by collaborating with internal and external auditors to resolve audit issues promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in a managerial capacity.
• Experience in the public healthcare sector is advantageous.
• Strong business acumen and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Excellent analytical ability to synthesize complex data into clear, visual narratives.
• Proven leadership in building lean, high‑performing teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
• Experience using data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
