Assistant Director / Senior Manager – Exhibition Programming & Content Development

About the role

Working closely with the Director and supported by an Assistant Manager, this senior position shapes and delivers STPI’s curatorial programme, aligning it with contemporary discourse while championing artists. The role also drives content development across print and digital platforms, ensuring consistent, research‑based communication.

Key responsibilities

• Develop exhibition concepts with the Director, artists and guest curators from proposal through realisation.
• Act as primary liaison for visiting artists, managing itineraries, logistics and on‑site support.
• Oversee artwork selection, maintain exhibition checklists and coordinate with registrars.
• Lead exhibition design, installation and lighting in partnership with internal and external teams.
• Research and deliver curatorially‑driven public programmes that extend audience engagement.
• Represent the programme through tours, press briefings and stakeholder briefings.
• Shape and execute STPI’s content strategy across publications, exhibition brochures, wall panels and the digital editorial platform print_screen.
• Collaborate with Marketing to provide accurate curatorial information for audience‑facing materials.
• Plan and chair the bi‑annual Content and Curatorial Committee, ensuring smooth coordination and documentation.
• Supervise and mentor the Assistant Manager (Content Development) and undertake ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• A degree in art history or a related field with strong knowledge of contemporary art.
• At least 5 years of relevant curatorial experience.
• Excellent research, writing and editorial skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, logistics and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a cultural institution.
