Assistant Manager – Liner Operations (Stowage Planning & Scheduling)

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Liner Operations Manager in overseeing schedule management and stowage planning for multiple trade‑lane services. This position offers a pathway to senior management, focusing on cost‑effective, compliant, and high‑quality shipping operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily vessel schedules, service performance and identify deviations.
• Develop recovery plans, including speed adjustments, port omissions, berth changes and terminal switches.
• Coordinate vessel port calls with local agents, monitor berth windows, tidal restrictions and draft limitations.
• Prepare and execute stowage plans, ensuring optimal ship loading and bunker consumption tracking.
• Support vessel deployment, network adjustments and ensure compliance with SOLAS, IMDG and other regulations.
• Collaborate with Trade, EMD, procurement, finance and chartering teams to align operations with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies, logistics, business or a related field.
• Relevant experience in liner operations, schedule management or stowage planning.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to propose practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional coordination.
