Assistant Senior Social Worker

About the role

SHINE Children and Youth Services is looking for an Assistant Senior Social Worker to deliver high‑quality casework, programme development and community engagement across Singapore. The role involves managing complex cases, leading multidisciplinary teams and supporting children and youth.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs and risk assessments for complex, high‑risk cases and develop intervention plans.
• Lead low/moderate risk case conferences in multidisciplinary settings.
• Facilitate specialised group work and manage challenging behaviours.
• Design and deliver programmes addressing service gaps with clear logic models.
• Identify service gaps, analyse trends and recommend resource linkage improvements.
• Engage community stakeholders to support service implementation.
• Assist in research design, literature analysis and evidence‑based practice.
• Supervise, mentor and coach less experienced staff while upholding professional standards.
• Perform administrative duties and support other projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Competent in social work practices with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player capable of working independently and adapting to change.
• Quick thinking, pleasant disposition and willingness to learn.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated and enjoys working with children and youth.
• Singaporean citizenship.
• Ability to manage ethical dilemmas and make independent decisions.
• Experience in casework, group facilitation and programme development.
