Associate Director - Architecture

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Director – Architecture to lead the design vision and drive profitability across our global architecture practice. The role will shape design philosophy, ensure high‑quality output and mentor a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and communicate the company’s design philosophy and vision.
• Maintain consistent high‑quality design standards across all projects.
• Provide design direction and participate in key design discussions during project execution.
• Identify emerging design trends and future directions.
• Review and approve key design deliverables with the team.
• Present design concepts at client and internal meetings.
• Submit projects for design review awards where appropriate.
• Implement processes to ensure client satisfaction and design excellence.
• Monitor project profitability and adjust resourcing plans as needed.
• Select, motivate and set clear goals for team members in line with company objectives.
• Manage performance reviews, develop annual training plans and oversee staff development.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading architecture or design teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong ability to set strategic design direction and ensure quality control.
• Experience managing project profitability and resource allocation.
• Demonstrated skills in performance management, coaching and staff development.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
