Associate Lawyer – Asset Finance & Restructuring

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Associate to provide strategic legal counsel to a diverse client base that includes financial institutions, private credit providers, export credit agencies, leasing companies, asset owners, and Fortune 500 corporations. The role focuses on complex, cross‑border corporate and commercial matters, especially security enforcement, restructuring and insolvency scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on corporate and commercial legal issues across multiple industries.
• Manage and lead multi‑jurisdictional security enforcement processes.
• Provide strategic guidance on restructuring, insolvency and distressed‑asset matters.
• Support debt‑workout, recovery and refinancing strategies for shipping and aviation finance.
• Coordinate with international stakeholders and legal teams on cross‑border transactions.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 2‑4 years post‑qualification experience in asset finance.
• Undergraduate degree from a leading university or equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong written communication and drafting abilities.
• Proven ability to build relationships at all organisational levels.
• Commercially minded with a high degree of sector knowledge.

Required skills

• Asset finance expertise, particularly in shipping and aviation.
• Experience with non‑recourse and limited‑recourse project financing.
• Knowledge of multi‑jurisdictional security enforcement and restructuring.
• Legal drafting and negotiation skills.
