Associate Research – In‑vitro Assay Development (2‑yr Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Join MSD's Animal Health Division in Singapore as an Associate Research professional focused on developing and validating in‑vitro release assays to replace traditional live‑fish testing. You will work within the Biochemistry Section, contributing to modern, humane, and reproducible testing platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and transfer biochemical and immunochemical assays (e.g., ELISA) for quality‑control release testing, replacing in‑vivo fish assays.
• Support diagnostic workflows, sample collection, and measurement of antibody responses post‑vaccination.
• Collaborate with scientists to program and operate automated liquid‑handling and analytical instrumentation as assays mature.
• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), SOPs, biosafety guidelines, and data‑integrity standards.
• Document raw data, generate trend reports, and perform statistical analyses for technical review and audit compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Aquaculture, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience and strong learning agility in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Methodical problem‑solving ability with comfort handling quantitative data and digital tools.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication and proven teamwork across cross‑functional groups.
• Commitment to a long‑term career in biotechnology, biomanufacturing or quality assurance.
