AVP/VP Relationship Manager, Midcap Institutional Banking

About the role

DBS Institutional Banking Group provides corporate customers with commercial banking products and services such as cash management, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans and foreign exchange. This AVP/VP Relationship Manager role focuses on midcap corporate clients and is based in DBS Asia Central.

Key responsibilities

• Solicit and develop new borrowing relationships, warm lead referrals from existing borrowers and contacts of Relationship Managers.
• Manage customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, understand customer needs, structure deals and evaluate credit risks, including significant risks and mitigating factors.
• Proactively manage, supervise and monitor an existing pool of borrowing accounts to optimise utilisation and profitability.
• Submit credit reviews on time, watch for credit deterioration or improvement and act promptly, including elevating matters to senior bankers and credit.
• Implement and execute the Mid Cap business strategy to grow market share and meet revenue, ROE, cost/income ratio and risk control and compliance targets.

Required profile

• University degree with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in sales within commercial banking, handling midcap corporates.
• Ability to solicit and develop new borrowing relationships.
• Strong sense of commitment and accountability, business focus, self-motivated, energetic and service-oriented.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of corporate and investment banking products: cash management, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, loans and M&A.
• Proficiency in customer relationship management and deal structuring.
• Ability to evaluate credit risks and discuss credit and risk matters independently with credit and risk teams (preferred).
