Backend Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join BJAK’s AI‑Neobank team. You will design and implement the core services that power onboarding, accounts, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, travel, FX, KYC and risk flows for millions of users across Southeast Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable backend services and APIs for financial products.
• Design systems that handle real‑time customer transactions with high availability and low latency.
• Integrate with internal platforms, financial partners, payment providers, AI services and third‑party APIs.
• Ensure backend quality in terms of reliability, security, observability, data integrity and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile and AI teams to deliver features quickly and safely.
• Continuously improve existing workflows by simplifying processes, removing manual steps and automating repeatable tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production‑grade backend systems.
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, jobs and event‑driven architectures.
• Hands‑on experience delivering services used by real customers or internal operations at scale.
• Mindset focused on debugging, reliability, security and data quality.
• Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability and maintainability.
