Backend Engineer / Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Patsnap is seeking a Backend Engineer (or Senior Backend Engineer) to design, build, and maintain high‑performance, scalable services that power its global innovation intelligence and AI‑driven products. The role is hands‑on, allowing you to own projects from concept through production while collaborating closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and other engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement robust backend solutions in Java to support new features and products.
• Lead end‑to‑end projects, managing the full development lifecycle with minimal supervision.
• Optimize performance and scalability by conducting code reviews, tuning databases, and refining microservices.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and documentation to ensure high code quality.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps to deliver cohesive releases on schedule.
• Troubleshoot production issues, implement long‑term fixes, and proactively prevent downtime.
