About the role
Join TikTok’s Privacy and Security team as a Backend Software Engineer. You will help shape the data‑privacy framework for a global short‑form video platform, building systems that protect user data while supporting rapid product growth.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services that enhance privacy across TikTok.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure technical compliance with global privacy laws and regulations.
- Investigate and remediate privacy incidents, including root‑cause analysis and scope assessment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 3 years of professional experience.
- Proven experience building backend services for large‑scale consumer‑facing applications.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least one language: Go, C++, Python, or Java.
- Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with backend development for high‑traffic platforms.
