BioChemical Engineer – AI Applications (Junior)

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on BioChemical Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI‑powered applications using large language models, agentic AI and modern software technologies, leveraging chemical and biochemical domain knowledge. The role is ideal for engineers who enjoy creating end‑to‑end solutions, experimenting with emerging AI capabilities and rapidly turning ideas into impactful life‑science applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop generative AI applications, AI assistants and intelligent workflows.
• Build and implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, AI agents and enterprise search solutions.
• Develop backend services, APIs and AI integrations using Python.
• Create user‑facing applications with modern frontend technologies such as React.
• Integrate AI models with enterprise systems, databases and external services.
• Rapidly prototype proofs of concept and customer demonstrations in the life‑science domain.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools, models and frameworks to identify new opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders and customers to deliver innovative solutions.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure and production‑ready and deploy in customer environments.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with knowledge of artificial intelligence.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience building web applications, APIs and backend services.
• Understanding of LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, embeddings and agentic AI concepts.
• Familiarity with JavaScript/React and modern application development practices.
• Strong chemical/biochemical domain expertise and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and a passion for learning new technologies.
