Business Analyst, Operational Risk

About the role

The Risk Management Group - Operational Risk (RMG-OR) develops and maintains the bank's risk management and internal control frameworks and provides independent review and challenge to business and support units. This Business Analyst position leads data analytics initiatives to transform operational risk tools and processes, bridging the RMG-Operational Risk function with technology teams. The role is based in DBS Asia Central.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, conceptualise and execute data analytics initiatives (machine learning, generative AI tools) to transform operational risk management tools and processes
• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables, and develop project plans and timelines
• Gather user requirements with stakeholders, track progress and report status to management
• Translate business requirements into system requirements and enhancements
• Develop user stories, run user acceptance testing, resolve production issues and track development progress
• Maintain system documentation and create training materials and sessions for users

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Statistics, Technology or a related quantitative discipline
• Minimum 8 years of experience in financial institutions and/or system-related work
• Excellent communication skills, resilience, project management skills and ability to work independently and multi-task
• Analytical, meticulous and self-motivated, able to consider the upstream and downstream impact of changes

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
• Strong data analytics capabilities
• SQL, Qlik Sense and/or Tableau highly desirable
• Experience with machine learning models and GenAI tools such as DBSGPT highly regarded
