Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a proactive Buyer to manage the procurement of materials, supplies, machinery, and services for its cutting‑edge manufacturing facilities in Singapore. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure a reliable supply chain that supports fast, high‑quality production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain supply continuity to meet manufacturing speed and quality targets.
• Execute pull‑ins and push‑outs with suppliers to satisfy MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional problem‑resolution teams addressing supply issues.
• Drive purchasing decisions that balance cost, quality, reliability, and urgency.
• Lead inventory and excess‑&‑obsolescence reduction initiatives.
• Manage purchasing projects, controlling cost, schedule, and scope.
• Handle sensitive information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements and act as a trainer for purchasing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2–4 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to run small projects and build consensus.
