Computational Design Technologist (1-Year Temp Contract)

About the role

LTA is hiring a Computational Design Technologist on a 1-year temporary contract. You will join the team developing AI digitalisation for the Infrastructure Design & Engineering Division, focusing on computational parametric design and an AI generative digitalisation project for the LTA Station Design Criteria. The work includes software development, user interface design and back-end documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Author rules to convert criteria into machine-readable code and rule sets.
• Build a context library of past station designs with known outcomes.
• Assist the leader in workshops to set goals for review and validation.
• Run structured technical sessions with discipline leads to validate interpretations.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Parametric analytical thinking and IT expertise to analyse, code and script a platform for the AI generative digitalisation project.
• Ability to participate in team discussions and coordinate workshops.

Required skills

• Working proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, able to write and test a rule evaluator.
• Exposure to rule or decision engines (JSON Logic, DMN, OPA/Rego) or regulated rules-as-code domains.
