Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager supports the Project Manager and Project Director in coordinating daily construction activities with general contractors and subcontractors. The role ensures that installation, assembly, and commissioning of components meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards while balancing on‑site oversight with office‑based project administration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the construction phase, preparing and submitting contractual documents for approval.
• Identify construction requirements based on project size, scope, and timeline.
• Apply established policies and procedures to control site risks.
• Assess progress reports, verify action items from meetings, and monitor time, cost, and quality performance.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Evaluate subcontractor performance against expectations.
• Oversee project completion, handover, and closure, verifying defects, variations, and technical documentation.
• Drive safety and sustainability initiatives, ensuring adherence to Workplace Safety and Health policies and green building standards.
• Lead continuous improvement and risk‑management initiatives aligned with organisational frameworks.

Required profile

• Recognised degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of practical experience, including at least 5 years in building‑project construction management with a main contractor.
• Relevant construction certification (e.g., Certificate in Construction Management).
