Coordinating Nurse / Flight Nurse

About the role

The Coordinating Nurse/Flight Nurse will deliver professional medical assistance services for International SOS clients, ensuring the highest standards of care. Working closely with the Regional Medical Director, coordinating doctors and nurses, the role combines clinical expertise with case management and medical transportation coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical due diligence, case direction and ongoing medical tasks, ensuring proper handover at shift changes.
• Provide referrals, retrospective claims assessments and oversee hospitalization cases.
• Assess medically related calls, deliver telephone medical assessments and advice.
• Organise and supervise medical assistance, including referrals, transportation and site surveys.
• Produce and communicate medical reports, liaise with medical officers, clients and insurance companies.
• Maintain transportation standards, assess evacuations and act as a medical escort.
• Refer patients to appropriate care, participate in site surveys and medical audits.
• Escalate cases according to protocol and support business development activities.
• Promote policies, undertake client‑specific training and contribute to team development.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in acute care (ICU/ED), primary care, medical/surgical or maritime medicine.
• Registered General Nurse with active SNB license.
• BCLS certification.
• Broad medical knowledge, clinical experience and strong critical‑thinking skills.
