Critical Infrastructure Controls Field Engineer

About the role

Amazon’s AWS Infrastructure Services team designs, builds, and operates the global cloud backbone. As a Critical Infrastructure Controls Field Engineer you will ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of AWS data‑center control systems across your region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end engineering support for data‑center design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.
• Act as the regional subject‑matter expert for control‑system design reviews, equipment submittals, and technical advice.
• Troubleshoot failures, conduct root‑cause analysis, and produce corrective‑action documentation.
• Support operational issues through training, complex procedure reviews, and event response.
• Collaborate with design, server hardware, and EHS teams to enforce standards and reliability.
• Lead engineering audits, on‑site visits, and risk‑assessment reporting.
• Serve as resident engineer during new construction projects, overseeing construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in industrial controls and automation within large‑scale infrastructure environments.
• Proven ability to work on multiple concurrent projects across geographic regions.
