Cybersecurity Architect & Incident Responder

About the role

Join a leading university as the guardian of its digital campus, protecting everything from classroom platforms to research cloud workloads. You will design security architectures, lead incident response, and mentor development teams to embed security into daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the security architect for new applications, cloud workloads and third‑party integrations, assessing risk early and ensuring security is built‑in.
• Lead incident response when the SOC flags an alert, coordinating containment, remediation and post‑mortem analysis.
• Run proactive vulnerability scans on high‑value systems, prioritize findings and work with developers to remediate code‑level issues quickly.
• Consolidate security events and incidents into a unified view, apply frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Continuously improve security standards, promote secure coding (OWASP) and raise security awareness across the university.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field (Master’s a plus).
• 4–7 years of hands‑on cybersecurity experience, preferably collaborating with development teams on secure SDLC.
• Proven experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), SIEM/EDR, vulnerability management, firewalls and application security.
• Demonstrated ability to lead full‑cycle incident response and communicate findings clearly.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+, CEH, GIAC, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer) or willingness to obtain them.
