About the role
As an intern for the Cybersecurity Software Researcher position, you will study malware and the techniques used by malware developers to evade security software. The internship lasts 2 to 4 months and is open to undergraduate and pre-university students.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research into malware and malware techniques.
- Learn how security software and products detect and mitigate malware.
- Analyse anti-malware technologies and assess their effectiveness against malware.
- Explore new and emerging techniques to detect and mitigate malware.
- Deliverables include researching malware techniques, assessing the effectiveness of security products and their anti-malware technologies, and researching ways to mitigate malware.
- Possible projects cover Windows systems, network devices, Linux systems and mobile devices.
Required profile
- Strong interest in cybersecurity.
- Undergraduate or pre-university student.
Required skills
- Experience in C/C++ programming and Python.
- Knowledge of assembly (e.g. x86, ARM) and reverse engineering is recommended.
