Data Architect – Commercial Banking & AML (APAC)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead the design, build and governance of enterprise data platforms for Commercial & Corporate Banking, with a strong focus on AML, financial crime and regulatory data across APAC markets.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement Data Lakehouse solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and define end‑to‑end data ecosystems covering ingestion, storage, modelling, analytics and governance.
• Lead ground‑up platform builds from concept to production, overseeing data engineering streams such as pipelines, orchestration, quality, lineage and metadata.
• Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data models support BI, reporting, AML monitoring and regulatory use cases.
• Implement and maintain data governance frameworks, including stewardship, lineage and quality controls.
• Communicate architecture vision to business, technology and regional leadership and influence cross‑functional decision‑making.
• Work across multiple APAC markets (Thailand, Korea, Japan, Myanmar, India, Philippines) and travel as required.
• Contribute to broader cloud architecture, integration patterns and enterprise services, supporting IAM, networking and security.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or enterprise data roles.
• Strong exposure to Commercial/Corporate Banking and AML/Financial Crime data domains.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale, multi‑stream data programs in APAC.
• Senior‑level expertise with the ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams.
