Data Center IT Technician

About the role

JLL is looking for a Data Center Operations Associate to support daily IT and data center operations in Singapore. The role provides first-level technical support, manages customer requests, performs hands-on infrastructure activities and helps keep data center facilities running smoothly. It is an on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Handle customer requests by phone, email and ticketing systems, and provide basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, installation and setup issues.
• Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support and track tickets through resolution.
• Perform hardware installation, rack and stack, cabling, testing and decommissioning.
• Provide remote hands support such as equipment checks, power cycles, component replacements, upgrades and cable testing.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and verify equipment deliveries.
• Create, update and close service, incident and change tickets, and assist with physical access management and security procedures.
• Support Power Maintenance Events and other operational activities.
• Maintain inventory, spare parts, cabinets and consumables, and keep asset records accurate through physical audits.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors and clients, and support knowledge sharing and training.

Required profile

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
• 1-2 years of data center experience, or basic knowledge of data center IT operations.
• Proven ability to carry out rack/stack, cabling, decommissioning and remote hands tasks.
• Experience with logistics, inventory tracking and database updates.
• Ability to follow SOPs and manage incident/change tickets, with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Server hardware installation and troubleshooting.
• Network cabling (ethernet, fiber, transceiver) and rack and stack activities.
• Microsoft server products and basic understanding of data center power schemes.
• Preferred: familiarity with Microsoft server technologies, data center safety practices, technical documentation and cabling standards, and hardware relocation and asset management.
