Data Governance Team Lead, Transformation & Data

About the role

DBS is hiring a Data Governance Team Lead within its Transformation & Data team under the Group COO, based in DBS Asia Central. The role defines, champions and oversees enterprise-wide data governance frameworks that support DBS's Data & AI ambitions, mitigates risks across the data lifecycle and leads a team of data governance specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Define, champion and oversee enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, expanding them to cover agentic AI, real-time and unstructured data use
• Entrench the data ownership model across all units and locations, and partner with risk management and technology leadership on governance initiatives
• Drive communication and alignment on data governance standards and outcomes, and establish playbooks, learning materials and tools for implementation
• Embed data risk controls and spearhead the transformation and scaling of data governance with AI and automation
• Refine frameworks against emerging risks, technology developments, new data and AI use cases and regulatory changes, and define, monitor and report key risk indicators and outcomes
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of data governance specialists

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics or data science
• Subject matter expertise in data governance, data management or risk management
• In-depth understanding of data risks, controls, data lifecycle management, data ownership, metadata and lineage, data quality and data compliance
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional data governance initiatives from conception to implementation
• Strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to present complex topics clearly
