Deputy Procurement Officer – 1 Year Renewable Contract

About the role

The Deputy Procurement Officer will lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for government projects in Singapore. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure compliance with public‑sector procurement policies while delivering value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage procurement processes for high‑value government projects, including sourcing, tendering, quotations and supplier selection.
• Provide procurement advice to internal stakeholders and support business units in planning and sourcing activities.
• Develop sourcing strategies that achieve cost efficiency and effective supplier management.
• Maintain governance, compliance and documentation to keep procurement activities audit‑ready.
• Manage supplier relationships, contracts and performance to meet project requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements to procurement processes and service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and project groups to resolve procurement‑related issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of public‑sector or government procurement experience.
• Proven track record managing complex, high‑value procurement projects and government tenders.
• Strong knowledge of Government Procurement policies, IM (Procurement) and GeBIZ.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple activities within project timelines.
• Understanding of procurement governance, compliance and contract management.
• Experience leading or mentoring a procurement team is an advantage.
