Director of People & Culture

About the role

Join the pre‑opening team of a new Avani hotel in Singapore as the Director of People & Culture. You will shape the talent strategy, build an engaged workforce and embed the brand’s values from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the People & Culture strategy, aligning it with business objectives and brand values.
• Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee on all people‑related matters.
• Drive pre‑opening recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding and talent acquisition.
• Design and deliver employee engagement, learning, development and wellbeing programmes.
• Oversee performance management, succession planning and talent development.
• Manage compensation, benefits, employee relations and recognition programmes.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore employment legislation, work‑pass requirements and statutory obligations.
• Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing People & Culture team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of senior HR or People & Culture leadership experience.
• Previous experience in international hospitality organisations, preferably in a hotel pre‑opening environment.
• Strong business partnering, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English and comfortable using HR systems and technology.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, work‑pass administration and statutory requirements.
