Duty Engineer

About the role

The Duty Engineer supports the Maintenance Officer and Senior Duty Engineer in daily hotel maintenance operations, ensuring that all equipment and facilities function safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect hotel equipment such as plumbing, electrical appliances, locks, heating, air‑conditioning, and bathroom fixtures.
• Perform small renovation tasks including painting, carpeting, and furnishing.
• Identify faults in systems or equipment and coordinate repair work.
• Monitor firefighting facilities and ensure they are operational at all times.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities and keep accurate records.
• Maintain a daily log of all maintenance work performed.
• Ensure safety‑related documents are current and comply with safety protocols.
• Provide maintenance support to colleagues and ensure personal and team safety during interventions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in hotel, facilities, or construction maintenance.
• ITE/Nitec Certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, or Air‑Conditioning servicing.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Effective communication skills and a positive, helpful attitude.
