Engineering Team Lead – Data2Evidence

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Engineering Team Lead for the D2E Analyze team. You will guide a small group of engineers, own the technical direction, and stay close to production code, architecture, and cloud operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute technical strategy and architecture for the Analyze team while writing production TypeScript code and reviewing pull requests.
• Lead performance engineering for large analytical workloads, profiling, tuning, and troubleshooting queries across column‑store and row‑store databases.
• Build, maintain, and evolve CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes deployments, and Azure cloud resources.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for Mount Sinai’s engineering and research teams, translating requirements into engineering decisions.
• Mentor, coach, and grow a team of software engineers, providing feedback and career development.
• Contribute to the broader engineering roadmap and long‑term technical strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a software engineering team in a production environment while remaining hands‑on.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to represent engineering to external partners and non‑technical audiences.
• Deep production‑level expertise in TypeScript for both frontend and backend services.
• Extensive experience optimizing analytical workloads on databases such as ClickHouse, DuckDB, BigQuery, Redshift, SAP HANA, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and cloud infrastructure on Azure, including Kubernetes.
