Entry-Level Software Engineer – Asset Servicing

About the role

Kick‑start your software engineering career as an entry‑level Software Engineer I. You will join an agile Asset Servicing team at J.P. Morgan, designing, developing and troubleshooting software components for secure, stable and scalable technology products.

Key responsibilities

• Execute basic software solution design, development and technical troubleshooting.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities to accelerate design comprehension, draft unit tests and documentation while ensuring data sensitivity and security.
• Write secure, high‑quality code in at least one programming language with peer guidance.
• Interpret architecture and non‑functional requirements to develop software that aligns with defined architecture.
• Apply automation to reduce manual toil in the software development lifecycle and address basic code‑quality issues.
• Gather and analyze data sets to support troubleshooting and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and at least 1 year of applied experience.
• Baseline knowledge of software, applications and technical processes within a discipline.
• Working knowledge of enterprise‑authorized AI tools with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to review and validate AI‑assisted code before use, escalating when uncertain.
• Proven ability to work in large, collaborative teams and contribute to an inclusive culture.
• Demonstrated ability to code in one or more languages.
• Understanding of business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement.
• Proficiency with developmental toolsets; exposure to cloud technologies is a plus.
