Equipment Engineer 1

About the role

Skyworks is seeking an Equipment Engineer 1 to support the manufacturing of high‑performance analog semiconductors. The role focuses on evaluating, selecting, and maintaining equipment that enables efficient production while ensuring reliability and uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and order cost‑effective equipment for product manufacturing.
• Oversee installation, modification, upgrade, and routine maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records on technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues from equipment manufacturers.
• Analyze equipment performance and reliability, establishing programs to increase uptime and resolve process‑impacting problems.
• Provide technical support to equipment repair and process engineering teams.
• Define and document preventative maintenance schedules and related documentation.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal and external stakeholders on moderate‑scope technical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in equipment engineering or manufacturing.
• Strong judgment within defined procedures and the ability to apply company policies to resolve issues.
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Macros, Lotus Notes).
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems such as PROMIS, FDC, SEC/GEM, and UtilEyes.
• Hands‑on ability to use diagnostic tools (digital multimeter, hand tools, vacuum diagnostic equipment).
• Knowledge of solder printing, bump flattening, and lamination tools.
