Etch Process Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Etch Process Engineer to join SSMC’s Etching Process Engineering team. In this role you will help develop, sustain and optimise semiconductor etch processes to meet production targets while ensuring high quality and yield.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, sustain and optimise process capability (CpK) to achieve operational goals.
• Lead new process development and process transfer activities.
• Optimise existing processes to improve yield and productivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process‑related issues on the fab floor.
• Qualify and release equipment for manufacturing capacity and evaluate alternate sources for cost reduction.
• Plan and execute engineering projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives (10k ideas, LSS, BKM).
• Set up, monitor and maintain SPC charts and ensure all required documentation is completed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing (fresh graduates may be considered with training).
• Fundamental knowledge of semiconductor devices, electronics, digital principles and wafer‑fabrication processes.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft business applications.
• Effective problem‑solving, teamwork and a detail‑oriented mindset.

• Statistical Process Control (SPC) charting.
• Process capability analysis (CpK).
