Full Stack Engineer (AI-enabled Products)

About the role

Activate Interactive, a technology consultancy in Singapore, is hiring a Full Stack Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The engineer designs, develops, deploys and maintains scalable, high-performance and secure web applications, working in an agile, DevOps-driven environment. The role covers the full lifecycle of digital and AI-enabled products.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of end-to-end application development, integrating frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure and AI services.
• Design, develop and maintain responsive, accessible and performant web applications.
• Implement modern frontend architectures and build backend services and APIs with reliability, security and observability.
• Maintain automated test coverage, fix bugs and defects, and optimise CI/CD deployment strategies.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and cloud deployments using DevOps best practices.
• Ensure application security, including authentication, authorisation, API security and frontend security.
• Own the delivery, enhancement and scaling of AI-enabled products in production, and adopt emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience delivering production-ready web applications and digital products across development, testing, deployment and production support.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered features in production, including RAG, tool/function calling and agent workflows, with guardrails and evaluation of LLM output.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Docker and containerisation.
• Awareness of LLM-specific risks such as prompt injection and data leakage, and of authentication and authorisation mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).

Required skills

• Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js and/or Next.js, responsive design, and familiarity with Material-UI or Tailwind CSS.
• Backend: Node.js (Express.js, NestJS) and/or Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django), RESTful APIs, GraphQL and WebSockets, caching (Redis), rate limiting and horizontal scaling.
• DevOps: GitLab CI/CD, AWS, Docker, monitoring and observability tools.
• Testing: unit and integration testing, automated testing frameworks, and production issue resolution.
