Full Stack Software Engineer (React.js, Node.js, AWS, GitHub)

About the role

Activate Interactive, a technology consultancy in Singapore, is hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract to support the development, enhancement and day-2 operations of a government cloud platform. The role spans frontend, backend and AWS-integrated components, with both software development and hands-on troubleshooting across SIT, UAT and Production. The contract may be extended or converted to permanent with good performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain frontend and backend components, APIs and services, including validation, status tracking, error handling and workflow improvements.
• Troubleshoot application defects, frontend, backend and integration issues across SIT, UAT and Production, and support regression testing and end-to-end verification.
• Work with AWS services such as ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, Route 53, ElastiCache, IAM, VPC, ELB, SES and OpenSearch, investigating provisioning and connectivity issues.
• Support cloud configuration such as routing, whitelisting, endpoints, security groups, reverse proxies and workload connectivity.
• Work with Infrastructure-as-Code modules and GitLab CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot Terraform and pipeline failures, and support container image management and vulnerability remediation.
• Support integration of NGINX, REST APIs, WebSocket, authentication middleware, Singpass/CorpPass, SFTP, microservices and cross-account AWS connectivity.
• Investigate and remediate security findings, support VAPT remediation, address container and dependency vulnerabilities, and implement WAF rules, CSP headers and access controls.
• Handle incidents, bugs and service requests, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams, and support production deployments.

Required profile

• Strong experience in full-stack software development and modern web applications.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript and experience with React.
• Hands-on AWS experience and ability to investigate problems using application, container and infrastructure logs.
• Experience supporting applications across SIT, UAT and Production environments.
• Preferred: Terraform, Docker, ECS, NGINX, AWS API Gateway and Lambda, container vulnerability remediation, and experience with government or security-controlled environments.
