Generative Engine Optimisation Lead

About the role

The Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) Lead will head a team of SEO specialists, driving both traditional SEO and AI‑powered search strategies for our clients. You will combine leadership, technical expertise and client management to deliver measurable results.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and train a team of SEO specialists, conduct performance reviews and set objectives with the Digital Marketing Manager.
• Develop and execute on‑page, off‑page and technical SEO strategies, including backlinking and AI‑driven content optimisation.
• Monitor brand visibility in generative AI answers, establish GEO performance metrics and adapt to AI model updates.
• Participate in client pitches, maintain ongoing communication, and tailor strategies to client goals.
• Produce monthly performance reports, track team metrics and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality work.
• Identify automation opportunities and improve SEO/GEO workflows.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of SEO experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and collaborate with sales, account servicing and creative teams.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• On‑page, off‑page and technical SEO, including audits and backlink strategies.
• Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and AI‑powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Grok).
• Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs and SEMrush.
