Global Indirect Commodity Manager (IT)

About the role

The Indirect Commodity Manager will design and implement sourcing solutions for Advanced Energy’s indirect spend, ensuring continuity of supply, cost efficiency and alignment with corporate objectives across global regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing and contract negotiations for IT hardware, software and services.
• Develop and execute global category strategies, conduct spend analysis and supplier segmentation.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Partner with business stakeholders to align sourcing plans and ensure compliance.
• Oversee global spend, optimize costs, and monitor supplier performance through scorecards and annual business reviews.
• Process purchase requisitions and purchase order confirmations when required.
• Support Advanced Energy’s manufacturing factories, design centers and global service locations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement or commodity management, preferably in industrial machinery or IT.
• Background in supply chain management within an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to develop and deploy comprehensive category and commodity strategies.
• Experience collaborating with business leaders to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Hands‑on experience with commodity spend analysis, supplier contract management and Procure‑to‑Pay processes.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in SAP or Ariba procurement systems.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and standard Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Excellent problem‑solving and planning orientation.
