Global Supply Chain New College Graduates Program

About the role

The Global Supply Chain New College Graduates Program is a 16‑month inter‑department training initiative at Applied Materials in Singapore. It is designed to develop future leaders for the Global Supply Chain organization through rotations in Purchasing, Sourcing, and Commodity Management, while building both technical and business capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Engage in new supplier introductions and disengagements for the Applied Materials supply base.
• Support maintenance of agreements that define business relationships with suppliers.
• Develop strategies to procure components at the lowest cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
• Assist in creating commodity road maps and implementing commodity strategies.
• Drive material cost‑reduction projects, including supplier negotiations and design optimization.
• Perform supplier price and delivery negotiations and, under supervision, negotiate contracts.
• Conduct supplier risk assessments and monitor performance on delivery, quality, and cost.
• Resolve systematic supply‑chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery, or lead‑time.

• Performs routine entry‑level assignments and follows existing procedures.
• Develops competence through structured work assignments and guidance from team members.
• Utilizes basic quantitative and qualitative analysis to solve standard problems.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills across the organization.
