IT Security Officer

About the role

We are seeking a meticulous IT Security Officer to join a leading team delivering complex cyber‑security solutions. You will act as the first line of defence, managing day‑to‑day security risks throughout the System Development Lifecycle and contributing to vulnerability management, data protection, and GRC initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the current threat landscape and emerging cyber‑security events.
• Develop and deploy security hardening guidelines based on industry best practices.
• Analyze vulnerability scan results and coordinate remediation with principal vendors.
• Propose and enforce mitigation measures for failing controls or identified vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with Patch Managers and Engineers to ensure timely system patching.
• Manage vendor and business‑associate security assessments and vulnerability assessments/penetration testing.
• Create and maintain security frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Educate project teams on security frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Validate the effectiveness of security measures post‑implementation and maintain operational documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology or Cyber Security.
• Minimum 4 years of IT or cyber‑security experience.
• Professional certifications such as RHCE, MCSE, CISA, or SSCP are advantageous.
• Strong technical understanding of IT security controls.
• Dynamic individual and team player with a positive attitude.
