Java Microservices Developer – Enterprise Backend (Singapore)

About the role

We are looking for a Java Microservices Developer to join our Singapore team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining enterprise‑grade backend systems using core Java and modern microservices patterns. You will work in a cloud‑native environment delivering scalable REST APIs for financial services applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend services using Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for scalable enterprise applications.
• Integrate real‑time messaging with Kafka.
• Work with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL, ensuring optimal query performance.
• Collaborate with business analysts, testers and DevOps engineers across the delivery lifecycle.
• Participate in live coding sessions and demonstrate strong algorithmic problem‑solving abilities.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, debugging and adherence to best practices.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools like Jenkins, Git and Maven.
• Contribute to cloud and container initiatives on AWS, Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker.

Required profile

• Hands‑on coding expertise with solid problem‑solving skills.
• Experience delivering solutions in the banking or financial services domain.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
• Strong algorithmic thinking demonstrated through live coding or interview exercises.
