Language and Communication Lecturer – Foundation Programme

About the role

The Centre for Foundation Studies is looking for a Lecturer to teach English Language and Communication, National Education and Life Skills modules for the Polytechnic Foundation Programme. The role involves designing learner‑centred curricula, delivering lessons across face‑to‑face, online and blended formats, and supporting students’ progression to diploma studies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deliver and review language, communication, National Education and Life Skills curricula for PET and CET learners.
• Plan engaging learning experiences using authentic communication contexts and incorporate instructional design frameworks.
• Develop assessments, marking rubrics and feedback approaches that demonstrate student competencies.
• Integrate generative AI and digital platforms to enhance pedagogy, assessment and student learning.
• Monitor student progress, provide academic and pastoral support, and organise enrichment and overseas learning activities.
• Engage in research on educational trends and collaborate with industry or community partners.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in English Language, Applied Linguistics, Communication Studies or related fields.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and working with youth and adult learners.
• Ability to lead discussions, mediate opinions and evaluate reasoning.
• Effective team player adaptable to a fast‑paced environment.
• Familiarity with educational technologies, generative AI tools and digital learning platforms.
