Language & Communication Lecturer – Polytechnic Foundation Programme

About the role

The Lecturer will be based in the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) and will teach English Language and Communication, National Education and Life Skills modules to PET and CET learners. The role involves designing, delivering and continuously reviewing learner‑centred curriculum to strengthen language proficiency, critical thinking and confidence for progression to diploma studies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver curriculum for Language and Communication, NE and Life Skills across face‑to‑face, online and blended modes.
• Create engaging learning experiences using authentic communication contexts and instructional design frameworks.
• Develop assessments, marking rubrics and feedback mechanisms, integrating generative AI and digital platforms responsibly.
• Monitor student progress, provide academic and pastoral support, and organise enrichment and overseas learning activities.
• Engage in research on educational trends and collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance curriculum relevance.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or experience in English Language, Applied Linguistics, Communication Studies or related fields.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate discussions.
• Passion for teaching youth and adult learners and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Teaching, supervisory or leadership experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with generative AI tools for pedagogy and assessment.
• Quantitative and qualitative data analysis capabilities.
