Lead Product Manager, Data Platform (Data Mesh)

About the role

Grab is looking for a Lead Product Manager for its Data Platform (Data Mesh) team, an individual contributor role based onsite at Grab's headquarters in Singapore and reporting to the Head of Product, Data and AI Platforms. The Data Platform team builds the data foundation powering Grab's business, covering the Data Lake and Signals Marketplace, Data Discovery and Catalog, Customer Data Platform, Experimentation, Metrics and others. The Data Mesh team owns Signals Marketplace, the data mesh, giving domain teams the platform and shared standards to model, test and secure their data.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategy and roadmap for Grab's data mesh and data throughput over modeled data.
• Own how Grab models its core business entities, how they map to physical data and how they relate to each other.
• Make modeled data products the default for analysis and for training AI models, so publishing one takes less work than publishing a raw table.
• Own data quality testing, with stricter tests for the data that matters most, and decide which data cannot afford to get wrong.
• Ensure the data mesh is secure with proper access control and data classification.
• Own the data catalog, including lineage and business context behind each table, and automate its upkeep.
• Build and adopt AI tools used by data engineers and analysts to build, test and query data.

Required profile

• 6+ years in technical product management, including 2+ owning data platforms; internal platforms and commercial products both count.
• Experience making shared definitions stick across teams that each own their data, using data mesh, a layered lakehouse, or entity and semantic modeling.
• Experience shipping data contracts, quality checks or incident workflows, tiered by business impact.
• Experience building access control or data classification into a data platform, such as tag-based policies or column masking.
• Experience shipping metadata or context that agents read from a catalog like DataHub, with evaluations showing improved accuracy.
• Experience influencing teams or customers you do not control to adopt a standard you set.

Required skills

• Data architecture: tracing data from Kafka through Spark or Flink jobs into Iceberg tables queried in Trino.
• AI and agents: building with AI coding agents and understanding how attackers might use AI agents against access controls.
