Lead Software Engineer - Active Directory

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer on the Identity & Access Management team within JPMorgan Chase's Chief Technology Office, you will shape the reliability and security of critical authentication services. You will guide a team of engineers, break down complex problems, and act as the technical authority for medium to large‑scale products.

Key responsibilities

• Champion site‑reliability culture, documenting best practices and sharing knowledge across the organization.
• Lead initiatives that improve application stability using data‑driven analytics and proactive bottleneck removal.
• Define service‑level indicators, objectives and error budgets in partnership with stakeholders.
• Utilise enterprise‑authorized AI tools to accelerate incident triage, troubleshooting and post‑incident analysis while ensuring data sensitivity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact during major incidents, driving rapid resolution to prevent financial loss.
• Promote reuse‑first adoption of AI‑assisted reliability workflows across the SDLC, including CI/CD quality checks and test automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science or a related field.
• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of hands‑on experience.
• Proven expertise in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise architecture and toil reduction.
• Fluency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot.NET or PowerShell.
• Experience applying enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows with strong validation practices.
