Learning Support Trainer

About the role

The Learning Support Trainer (LST) joins MINDS’ Lifelong Learning Department to deliver the Adult Curriculum (AC) across our community hubs. Working closely with Learning Coaches, Training Officers and allied health professionals, the LST helps adults with intellectual disabilities develop independent living and daily functioning skills through structured, person‑centred learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver AC modules to hub participants, adapting lesson plans to individual learning needs.
• Collaborate with Learning Coaches, Training Officers and allied health professionals to ensure smooth curriculum rollout.
• Conduct and administer assessments, monitor progress and produce timely reports.
• Create and customise home‑based learning resources for caregivers and oversee their implementation.
• Manage a resource library of programme activities, tools and materials, tracking usage and feedback.
• Partner with external vendors to adapt and evaluate their learning offerings for client suitability.

Required profile

• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities or in special‑education settings.
• Strong understanding of person‑centred approaches and adaptive learning strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to assess learning outcomes and produce clear progress reports.
• Organisational skills for resource management and curriculum planning.
