Lecturer – Big Data Analytics & AI (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

The School of Informatics & IT is seeking a Lecturer to deliver full‑time and part‑time teaching in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Engineering and related ICT modules. The role includes designing and delivering curricula on emerging AI technologies such as Generative AI, Large Language Models, Agentic AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and Responsible AI, as well as mathematics modules tailored for IT students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct teaching and mentorship for undergraduate and postgraduate students in analytics, AI, ML and data engineering topics.
• Design, develop and continuously improve curriculum, course materials, assessments and project‑based learning activities.
• Guide students through real‑world AI and analytics projects, including predictive modelling and AI‑powered applications.
• Participate in school outreach programmes, committee work, and academic events.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, AI or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of industry experience in data science, data engineering, data warehousing, analytics or machine learning.
• Demonstrated competence and strong interest in teaching analytics, AI, ML and related mathematical subjects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, KNIME, Alteryx, Snowflake.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Experience with machine‑learning frameworks and AI development tools, including Generative AI and Agentic AI.
