Lecturer – Data Literacy (University Level)

About the role

The National University of Singapore seeks a full‑time Lecturer in Data Literacy. Appointed under the NUS Educator Track scheme, the role is hosted by the Office of the Provost and works closely with the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics & Data Science.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Course Lead in designing, delivering and continuously improving GEA1000 Quantitative Reasoning with Data, a university‑wide general education course.
• Integrate AI and other emerging technologies into teaching practices to boost student mastery of core data concepts.
• Collaborate with academic units across the university to align this course with higher‑level data science and analytics programmes.

Required profile

• PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related quantitative discipline.
• Proven experience teaching broad‑based undergraduate courses and developing curriculum, assessments and program alignment.
• Demonstrated interest in evidence‑based pedagogical research and innovative use of educational technologies, including generative AI.

Required skills

• Data science and analytics expertise.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Programming skills in Python or R.
