Legal & Compliance Data Protection Manager

About the role

The successful candidate will join the Legal, Compliance & Secretariat Department within Singapore Airlines' Corporate Planning Division. Reporting to the Legal & Compliance (Data Protection) team, the role focuses on ensuring compliance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act and global privacy regulations across the SIA group.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business units on personal data protection matters, assess legal risks, and propose practical solutions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal data protection policies, procedures, and controls.
• Manage and respond to data subject access requests and privacy‑related complaints or disputes.
• Oversee civil litigation involving SIA, including privacy or IP disputes, and coordinate with external counsel.
• Provide guidance on passenger claims and liaise with law enforcement or regulatory authorities on production orders.

Required profile

• Law degree from a reputable university in Singapore or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Minimum two years of legal experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Excellent drafting abilities and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Positive attitude toward learning and professional growth.
