Legal Counsel – Intelligence Organization

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to provide legal advice within a unique intelligence environment. The role involves supporting the Singapore Intelligence Department (SID) on a range of governance, HR and contractual matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise SID on its legal rights, liabilities and risks across various issues, including HR and contracts.
• Provide comparative law analysis relevant to SID’s operations.
• Develop, review and update internal policies and practices.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Singapore citizenship.
• At least three years of post‑qualification experience in private practice, in‑house counsel, or Singapore public service.
• Law degree and qualification to practice law in Singapore or another jurisdiction.
• Experience in comparative, corporate/commercial, administrative or international law.

Required skills

• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Meticulous attention to legal accuracy and thoroughness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a motivated team.
