Lighting Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Lighting Designer to join a specialised lighting design consultancy. The role involves creating lighting concepts that complement architectural intent and meet client briefs across various project stages.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine lighting concepts aligned with architectural direction and client requirements.
• Prepare lighting layouts, fixture schedules and comprehensive design documentation.
• Research, specify and source appropriate lighting fixtures and control systems within budget constraints.
• Coordinate technical matters with architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Support tender preparation, construction documentation and attend design reviews, project meetings and site visits.
• Assist with on‑site lighting focusing, testing, commissioning and manage project schedules and deliverables as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.
• Relevant experience in lighting design; level will be matched to experience.
• Portfolio showcasing lighting design projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit or lighting calculation software (advantageous).
